Taking Care When It Matters Most
Assistance aimed at alleviating as much as possible the physical and mental pain and suffering of individuals who are expected to die in the near future, helping them to spend their final days in a fulfilling and satisfying manner. Additionally, it is defined as providing end-of-life care with full consideration for their dignity and with heartfelt dedication.
perspective
During the end-of-life process, individual values influence how one perceives death, and it is natural for the thoughts and feelings of family members to be complicated. At our home care service, we strive to ensure that the individual can face a peaceful and natural end. We provide explanations about their condition as requested by the family and obtain their consent.
specific support services
physical care
We monitor vital signs (body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate), maintain the bed environment, ensure comfort and cleanliness, provide adequate nutrition and hydration, offer appropriate toileting care, and address fever and pain management.
mental care
We provide verbal support to alleviate physical pain, respect privacy, and accept physical changes and mental instability, responding appropriately to the situation at hand.
medical procedures
Under the instructions of a physician, home care staff with Indonesian nursing qualifications will provide care. The extent to which medical procedures can be performed in home care will be clearly determined through consultation with the physician, considering the individual's physical and mental condition.
- begin
If a physician diagnoses that further recovery is unlikely based on generally accepted medical knowledge, and if it is deemed unnecessary to continue care in a medical facility, the physician will explain this decision to the patient or their family. They will obtain consent for receiving end-of-life nursing and caregiving, and proceed accordingly.
- implement
End-of-life nursing and caregiving are primarily conducted in private rooms. Home care and families maintain continuous communication around the clock. All home care staff prioritize the wishes of the patient, striving to provide physical and psychological support to ensure a peaceful end-of-life experience as a dignified human being.
- emergency contact procedure
The sequence of contact in emergencies is as follows, starting with the assigned home care staff, followed by the home care leader and service provider, then the physician and family members, and finally arranging for urgent home visits or hospital transportation. While the above structure is fundamental, the order may vary depending on the situation at hand.
